(March 17, 1834 – March 6, 1900) was an engineer, industrial designer and industrialist born in Schorndorf, Germany. Establishing his own company, Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft, Daimler and partner Wilhelm Maybach developed and produced a new, highly efficient 4-stroke engine and the first four-wheel automobile.
